More stats about women online

"No, it's not about young blokes with no social life"...sadly this is something I - still - have to repeat again and again with a variety of facts and stats up my sleeve.

Often to people who say 'I'm not really into this stuff' - and then you discover they've created a Facebook group in their spare time! Which will in fact be the subject of a longer post in the near future - Internet denial.

The latest ammo comes from blogger Buzz Canuck, who has published 'digital women - 25 factoids to consider.' These include:

  • Something we've posted about in the past, women, especially women 30+ are more active in social networks than men
  • 42% of women visited a social network in the past month, compared to 41% of men
  • 33% of women 18-75 in the US participate in the 'blogosphere'
  • 71-73% of women go online in the US, and various surveys suggest that in North America women are online more than men. Meanwhile Nielsen research here in the UK shows that the most active online group is women 18-35
